Siesta Key and the beaches just off Sarasota
Siesta Key bridal hair and makeup for beach weddings
Siesta Key is known for its fine, white sand, which is nearly all quartz and stays comfortable underfoot in the Florida sun. I'm Kristen Palmieri, and I come to your rental, hotel or venue on the key, so you can get ready close to the water with the people who matter most to you.
Planning for sun, sand and wind
Beach ceremonies are beautiful, but they ask a little more of your hair and makeup. The humidity runs high through the warm months, so I plan for it from the start. I'll ask about your ceremony time and your veil, and then I'll suggest a style that stays secure in the wind while it still looks soft in photographs. Your makeup is prepared to hold up in the heat and to look natural in very bright light.
Timing your morning on the key
Two drawbridges connect Siesta Key to the mainland, one on Siesta Drive at the north end and one at Stickney Point to the south. If you're staying on the key, I'll come to you there. If you're getting ready on the mainland and driving over, we'll plan to finish early enough to allow for a bridge opening, for parking, and for the walk across the sand in your dress. The main beach lot can fill quickly at busy times, especially from January through April.
Small ceremonies and just the bride
I've done a Siesta Key elopement myself, and I'm always happy to book just the bride, with no minimum. For larger bridal parties, I lead every booking and work with trusted partner artists so everyone is ready in time for the walk down to the beach.
Experience and rates
I have more than twenty years of bridal experience, and I built Chic Artiste in North New Jersey before coming to Florida’s Gulf Coast. Each service is priced per person. Bride hair and bride makeup are $125 each, and party hair and party makeup are $100 each. Lashes are included with makeup, and every package includes travel to Siesta Key and your date reservation.
Share your date, your ceremony time and where you'll be getting ready on Siesta Key, and we'll plan a calm morning together.
Siesta Key questions
How do you keep my hair in place in the beach wind?
We start by choosing a style with a secure foundation, and I set it with enough hold to stay in place without feeling stiff. If you're wearing a veil, I'll anchor it so it can catch the breeze in photos without pulling your hair loose.
When should I start getting ready for a sunset ceremony?
I'll work backward from your ceremony and photo times, so the last person is finished with time to spare. Summer is the rainy season here, with frequent showers and thunderstorms, so it also helps to talk through a backup plan with your planner.
Will you come to my vacation rental on the key, and is travel extra?
Yes, I come to rentals, hotels and homes on Siesta Key, and every package includes travel to Siesta Key and your date reservation. Please send me the address and any parking details, since parking near the main beach can fill quickly in busy season.
